Shoulder & Elbow Fellowship

The Northwestern Medicine Shoulder & Elbow Fellowship is based at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in downtown Chicago. The goal of this orthopaedic fellowship is to secure a high level of knowledge and surgical skill for treating shoulder and elbow conditions. This training will be obtained through evaluation of patients in the clinic, a diverse operative experience, clinical research, educational conferences at Northwestern, and participation in regional and national meetings.

The fellow will have the opportunity to work with multiple faculty in any given week. This will foster diversity in non-operative approaches as well as surgical technique. Additionally, this approach will allow for graduated responsibility as the year progresses.

All three attending surgeons perform high-volume shoulder arthroscopy, arthroplasty and revision surgery. Matthew Saltzman, MD, focuses his practice on shoulder replacement surgery. Guido Marra, MD, has a large referral practice for difficult elbow problems and elbow replacement surgery. Ken Yamaguchi, MD, is an international leader in rotator cuff repair surgery.
